on Fox in the morning we have news anchors constantly invite both sides (like congress people) to state their opinion about the news...

the purpose of each channel is to gain/retain viewership and to make money.
if FOX or CNN could put a talking money on the air to gain the 18-45 audience they would totally do it.
Beck is a popular TV personality and i believe there was a bidding war between CNN and FOX at some point for him.

This is an excellent point. So many times we're being stereotypically branded by people making conclusions based on just one of our views. One of my non-online friends always bundles up all of my views with the ones he heard from some burn-the-arabs-alive "republicans" from Odessa. I am my own person. So is Алексей. I supported war in Iraq, but am pro gun control, I am anti abortion, but was against the Gov't bailout of auto industry. I hate people who carry a specific set of values that they share with the rest of the herd.

If this is so, let's blame both her and Mike Bishop, the (Republican) leader of the state senate. He is the one who is responsible for the state budget.
He is also responsible for the state constantly cutting support for the public Universities in the state. But who needs them, right?

about cutting money to state universities - my suggestion is you look at the numbers yourself...liberals have a tendecy to call it "cuts" if there is no significant increases...and one more point - I understand that some people's livelihoods depend on government money, but what do you suggest to do if there is no money in the budget?

I like the two pary system...I think our political system has less problems than countries with many parties...I think the answer to many problesms we have today is the term limits - carreer politicians are killing our countries - but it will require a Constitutional amendment by the same people it wowuld limit power of...so very hard to achieve...

And this is bad for Michigan budget why? Trash is business is as any other business -- Canadians pay for it, companies that run dump yards profit form it. Same with gambling. Casinos are companies -- what's wrong with that?

The sin taxes are immoral. Period. So - in case all of us are not going to gamble and drink and smoke - the poor government educated children will be left without education! That is a bright new future from the Governor of Michigan and President's best friend.
We also do not need the Canadian trash. Period. Let them take care of it themselves... Instead of promoting the consumerism, we should create jobs that produce goods, like automotive and manufacturing - the industries we had, which made us flourish (and by the way pay taxes). but manufacturing jobs are gone.. don't cry for them, but it's over.
100 years ago people were bitching about agricultural jobs going away.. guess what? they are almost all gone ( less then 2% of employment is in agriculture ) and we are a better country. Right now service industry is 80% of the jobs, manufacturing is less then 10% and dropping.
Taxing casinos/smoking/alcohol... what's wrong with that? It's the best type of tax - consumption tax...
