Treat you or only in cases of emergency? How does one qualify? What if your income isn't low enough to qualify, but not high enough to afford health insurance premiums. Plus, have you ever seen the inside of those places - gives a whole new meaning to "shitty" medicine.

According to the Health Canada site:
Many doctors and screening programs recommend screening mammograms every two years for women who are 50 to 69 years old.
According to the the US cancer.gov site:
Women age 40 and older should have mammograms every 1 to 2 years.
Интересно, это в Канаде экономят или в Америке деньги зарабатывают?

Lina – with all do respect – I think you don’t really know what you are talking about.
General Hospital usually has the best doctors, best teaching professors and professionals in general.
Have you ever looked inside? Of course, there is no red carpet and flowers left and right.
There are bunch of low income people getting help.
Unfortunately, I had to look inside a few times in my life, my father in law was hit by the car and was literally put together there,
my mother in low is treated for lymphoma right now (and that’s in California, the state with the least money available).

Having said that – I don’t see any benefits of continuing this conversation– there is NO light at the end of this tunnel.
Lina/Karina – as great as it is talking to you – we will never understand each other.
Maybe because of life experiences, position in life, income, I have no idea, but it is what it is.
I suggest closing the subject and/or open another one where we could discuss the issue at hand among people with similar believes,
or at least where there is a chance to get our point across.

Linachka,
IT IS NOT only in case of emergency it's in case you are sick, which most of us only do go to doctors when they are sick. And you don't have to qualify AT ALL, you just have to show up. Who cares about the insides, I am more concerned about the insides of the doctor's heads not how fancy their waiting room is.

Marina, with all do respect, I believe you're talking about a hospital located in California, while I'm referring to the New York - New Jersey health care system.

Sounds more like emergency medicine... I can give you an example of a man on dialysis who was suffering from headaches but couldn't get approval for certain tests because it didn't appear to be necessary... he shortly died of a brain aneurysm.
Every state has very different programs for the uninsured (if at all).

Where everyone can agree in unison.... should make for an "interesting" and short discussion. No wonder some here are so close minded

Дунская 10.03.2009 05:29

Lina - and in Canada - that man would still be waiting for an approval.
Unfortunately, there are ALWAYS cases of negligence, take ANY country in the world. Its sad but true.

Take care! (v)
