how long immunity lasts depends on the type of the vaccine, the ability of the pathogen to change/mutate ( like the flu virus), and in many cases is only known retrospectively. It could be , to a some degree, assumed that "conjugated" vaccines give you longer immunity. There is no vaccine that is 100% effective....for example, pertussis ( whooping cough) vaccine is only 78-85% effective, but by decreasing the index cases we significantly decrease exposure- what we call "herd immunity". I think the main problem with the current immunization schedule is that it's too cumbersome, and the general public feels it's just "too many" shots.....that's why most doctors are willing to work with patients/families and immunize against the most dangerous diseases first, while "spreading" the not-so-essential shots over time or simply skipping them with mutual understandings of risk/benefit ratio.

Vikki, viruses get introduced into people's bodies all the time, through exposure to sick people mostly... the amount of viruses we get exposed to in real life every day is way WAY more than what is introduced through the vaccines. Plus, not all vaccines introduce live viruses, some introduce dead viruses and some - only viral proteins...

Vikki, that she sould also not that it's not about WHAT is in the vaccines it's about HOW MUCH of it makes it safe and how much is not... even water in huge amounts in short period of time can be deadly... there is no substance that is not toxic, it's only about how much of it you get to sustain damage. So perhaps vaccinating with less vaccines at once makes sense, minimizing the exposure to vaccine constituents...
Dr. Sears has very good book on vaccines, where he describes the research on ALL vaccine constituents, available (and not available) research on the safety levels, brands of vaccines that have most and least of each constituent and recommendations of how to minimize the exposure. I highly recommend his book "vaccine book" to all who wonder about the subject.

Julia - this is the same book I referenced earlier - excellent, indeed. Vicki, I have just a word for you: imagine yourself with your child(ren) in a situation with raging polio epidemics and the risk of your kids ending up paralyzed due to your reluctance to vaccinate. Or, imagine your child catching Hib meningitis ( a totally preventable disease) and ending up deaf and mentally retarded. Or, if you have a boy, imagine him catching mumps and ending up infertile. I can go on and on, but this should be enough.....

Лично я ни в чем не пытаюсь вас переубедить... Надеюсь, что хотя бы вы осознаете, что у вас есть возможность выбирать делать прививки или нет только потому что большинство других их делает... Т.е. своим поведением вы говорите следующее "я верю что прививки губительны, и считаю, что все остальные должны губить своих детей, чтобы моих детей защитить" Какая религия приветствует подобную логику???
То что прививки полезны, это факт, который обсуждению не подлежит, также как то что вода мокрая. Сравните смертность детей от "прививаемых" заболеваний там, где их не прививают, и там, где прививают.
Сайт ваш посмотрела и еще посмотрю... но пока только скажу, что у автора книги, которая там рекламируется сразу при входе, Др. Эйзенштейн, нету НИ ОДНОЙ научной публикации...

Но ведь и другие люди имеют право решать как защитить своего ребёнка (детей) от инфекции. *И какой садик выбрать. *Для многих более безопасным покажется садик, в котором дети привиты.
