I just found out that US is one of two countries who uses corporal punishment, including paddling. Do you know anything about that?

Я читаю "Porki", и думаю что имеют в веду поросят/" Поросята в Американских школах", а на самом деле это как пороть/наказание физическое. В школах только с оправданием родителей. *Когда ребёнок провенился, тогда родители подписывают бумагу что ему разрешают получить "N" спенок. Это дело относительное. *-)

Victoria, I don't know where did you hear about this. (dt)I am a teacher in New York City public school. We have a law that if any teacher even accidently scrach the child, she or he needs to write a report what is happened and why. I never heard that the teachers in New York City aloud to hit the children. They will loose their jobs. And I believe this rule is not only for New York City but for most of the United States.

in Texas I know for a fact in some schools they offer it to parents as a part of discipline program for some children.. but parents must sign application for it. wild but true..

I am a public school teacher in New York City. Every year we have an orientation on the topic of corporal punishment. It is given by an administrator in charge of security. The topic is: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CORPORAL PUNISHMENT OF ANY KIND IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. It is simply not allowed. No spanking, no smacking, no raising your hand to make them flinch. I can NOT make them stand for a period of time because it can be interpreted as a corporal punishment. I can not belittle them verbally, becuase it can be considered as an emotional abuse. I cannot throw them out of the classroom. I cannot raise my voice as a method of instilling fear into the little darlings.
If your child is being physically punished in public school, you have every right to call the police. The only time when the force is allowed is when a member of the security team restrains the child to prevent him from harming others and himself.
