Fox is the best!

Fox News is good for NEWS corporation..
they are the number 1 network news channel.
they don't and should not care how good they are to any political party.
as on the subject - they are good for the republicans of course.. no other station brings up issues from the republican perspective.

I know Obama doesn't like it very much - doesn't miss any opportunity to chestize it, but it only because it's the ONLY news channel that holds his feet to the fire...

У меня в гостях месяц назад был мой одноклассник который прожил 17 лет во Франции и недавно переехал в Канаду. Он либерал от и до, from hating Bush to 9/11 conspiracy. Так вот он пожаловался что не может найти нормальный канал новостей, где "ругаются, спорят и обсуждают". Я посоветовал ему FOX News - ему очень понравилось!

Кстати, мои политические взгляды стали формироваться после того, что я начала смотреть CNN, MSNBC...я почувствовала что, что-то не так...а Fox не имела очень долго после этого, больше начала слушать радио, потом уже заказала Fox...

К сожалению, это единственный канал , который более менее правого толка, хотя не очень и консервативный последнее время. Когда-то раньше Bill O'Reilly был более независимым, а сейчас тоже шмузает ближе к центру. Глен Бэк и Шан Хэнити- ещё как-то держатся. А вот на консервативных радио идёт просто настоящий погром. и как мне кажется,если-бы республиканская партия не ушла от консерватизма, в настоящем его понимании, не проиграла бы тогда с таким позором.

If you want to talk about journalism -FOX that's where the real journalism is these days. Look at the Acorn story with two undercover journalists -that's really daring! Would any other channel even allow them at their door???
Or take Glenn Beck breaking story about Van Jones? These are the examples of real investigative journalism. Everything is TRUE.
So, what is the problem with a news channel that tell us the truth?
So, who has any valid objections?
FOX is becoming so consequential that the White House has no other option but starting throwing mud at it.

Fox News promotes the ideas of the very right of the Republican party, so IMHO, it does not serve the ideals of the whole party.
Personally, I don't like the style. I like when news channel reports the news, not interpretation of the news.

I don't really like watching Fox News. It states the obvious with too much vigor. Although it's the only news outlet reporting from the other side, it does it with arrogance similar to CNN's. Unfortunately, considering the fact that we're being fed the same mush by EVERY other news source but Fox, Fox is the only place to turn to. But it's sad.

no news is fair and balanced..
news organizations have nothing to gain from being impartial.
they only have to gain from flaming.
is your job as a viewer to strip away bullshit and spin and figure out what the real news are.

To answer a title question: I don't think it has any role in the life of republican party. It might seem to be a рупор for them, but let's not forget that majority of the Americans are very independent thinking people.

About being everything true - can someone name ONE instance when what was reported on Fox was not true?
I can name dozens of such what was reported on other "fair" channels and publications...
The most recent one that comes to mind was not that long ago - on MSNBC they were reporting (actually criticizing) on the town hall meetings and telling how people were showing up with assault weapons and being very close to Obama - suggesting that those crazy white violent men-racists who just hate Obama because of his race, and they are mad because of it...then they showed a back of that man with the weapon and didn't show the whole person...
But in reality the person with the assault weapon was BLACK...and the viwers of MSNBC got the wrong picture...thanks to Fox, the bias and agenda (to show that Obama critics are racists) were exposed...

About USSR not being able to take from someone - not that long agosomeone was convincing everyone that life there was not that bad, andthat Jews were to blame for the holocaust...so look in the mirror...
and exactly because the other side reminds us a lot about the USSR, we support the opposite us - closer to the American principles...

i find factcheck.org to be the best arbitrator of these statements.

I don't remember seeing any privacy act and security statement on cars.gov, nor do I remember having todisclose anypersonal information... Glenn Beck is a giant ass formisinforming and scaring the crap out ofthe dimwitted.

Beck brought up an issue that was caused by awkward wording on the website and blew it out of proportion.
Was it outright lie? No, but was it a distortion of the truth? Yes.
Just like all news commentators spin the facts to get their agenda across.
Although Beck is probably one of the better once on TV.
Just have to take everything with a grain of salt.

of course, every conservative commentator is "biased" because they look at issues from the conservative perspective - issues that are important and meaningful to them...
but they don't report the news - they discuss them...the news are reported by the news anchor every 30 minutes or so...but the example that I showed with MSNBC was with the news anchor...

Greta is dem, lawyer, used to work for CNN...left them during the beginning of the Iraq war...said they were not patriotic...
about "distorting the truth", I'd say if Beck did know for a fact at the time of reporting it was not accurate and still continued reporting it - I'd call it distorting...but he was just discussing it from how he was understanding it...imo...

of all commentators i think Rachel Meadow takes the cake though..
i only heard her for like 20 minutes when she was discussing ACORN and i thought i would just die laughing

plus, O'Reilly, Hannity, Brute...always, or most of the times, invite both sides to discuss an issue or respond to something...some commentators, such as Keith Olbermann never ever has conservatives on...CNN has someone like David Gergen, who is not really a conservative, some moderate who basically agrees with them most of the times...so he is just there to criticize conservatives FROM the "conservative" side most of the times...:-)

Fox is very good for the Republican party and for anyone, for that matter, who wants to learn about the issues from trully both sides...what's bad for the republican party is the politicians who republicans elect and who don't follow on their promices or stray from the principles...then the general public doesn't really see the difference between the parties..
