Oleg, we had the same problem with our son, he was very good, but had no interest. The best thing we did is a subscription to 2 science magazines ( "Kids discover" and another one, don't remember, which one, ....my son is 26). He was really into science, curious and smart - so it was right up his alley. And then , when he was a little older he discovered really good writers for himself and actually now reads a lot .
