This is what I don't get, why is it an acceptable line of thinking thatthe wealthy owe anything more to the society than anyone else? Where isthis thinking coming from? Why should they contribute unproportionatelymore?

the bible for one:"In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus endorses the concept, saying, "From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded."" and then there's the concept of Noblesse Oblige which implies "that with wealth, power and prestige come responsibilities".
I believe that in the process of getting rich and even inmaintaining wealth the society benefits in many ways already
