Viki, your statement about doctors (or nurses?) not giving their kids shots is not based on any reality. I agree that there are many shots, and they could be given on a more "gentle" schedule, but I've seen too many cases of measles, whooping cough, mumps etc...already here in America to ignore another aspect of immunization - and that would be societal responsibility. Those who do not immunize their kids "ride" on those who do. Most doctors would work with parents on creating some "customized" schedule, to give shots against the most dealdy and dangerous diseases. For those who want more information on "gentle" schedules, there is "The Vaccine book" by Dr Sears. It is a lot more reasonable then just bluntly refuse ALL vaccine.
