had a discussion with a 17 yo kid today who said "I hate my family and not ashamed I hate every single person in my family".
His mother is pretty awful, if there is a textbook psychopath - she is it. Emotionally, psychologically abusive, terribly controlling. But - the kid is just full of rage ( justifiably so), I am afraid for him... So - had a long discussion with him. About the fact that he doesn't have to love his mother or respect his mother. But he needs to learn how to forgive his mother - for his own sanity and health.
And he got it. Very sad.
