По умолчанию TEA PARTY
What do you think about Tea Party movement? Politically they might do the same thing to Republican Party that Ross Perot did in 92. What is it, blessing in disguise for Democrats or strong support system for Republicans? How do you think it will play out in November?

I think you might be right and the end result of the Tea Party movement might be detrimental to Reps in November.

What really others me is the wasted potential. I feel that the country has never been more ready for a third party to step in and lead, as the two old parties are so dysfunctional and so poorly trusted by the public. However, what I see from the Tea Party is a lack of organization, lack of clear message etc. They also hitched their wagon to Sarah Palin's star, which might not be the wisest thing.
What they really need is a very good PR campaign. The media likes to present them as a bunch of screaming violent mob, and they need a lot of professional PR and Media specialist to change that image.

Tea party movement is the best thing that is happening to America!I'm going to our huge rally in the heart of liberal San Francisco on April 15th. We are gonna have so much fun:-D I went last year, and it was awesome ( so many professional just showed up on their lunch break, great crowd, put's crazy leftists to shame with their vandalism-style protests).
I'm buying a Reset 2010 bumper sticker.(fr)

Maria, I agree,i too think it's a great movement, I am just concerned that it won't fully leverage the fantastic opportunity to become a real political force.

I also feel that the libertarian partyis falling asleep on the job and taking advantageof the best opportunity to promote their ideas that theyhad ever had.

We don't really need a third party. Reagan was not supportive of it, and I completely agree why. Republicans CAN be a conservative party once again, thanks to the Tea Party movement.

I dsagree, I feel that there is a void that a third party could fill.

A fiscally conservative, but not religiosuly conservative party (like the libertarians) could really unite the population that is disenchated with Reps and disgusted wiht the Dems.

In an ideal world, the Reps would get a grip and lead the country, but they don't seem to be able to do it, so I feel if tehre was ever a time for a shake up it is now

Renata, there has to be something short of a revolution for a third party to rally behind a single person and vote/her/him into the office. In two years! Let's not forget that both parties have their machines, structures & centuries-old alliances. Smart thing to do in 2012 is to use a tea party momentum to rally behind a republican candidate, while building a third party machine locally.

Oleg, I agree...but don't these the required level of organization on the side of the Tea Party. Nor do I see that the GOP is being smart about using the Tea Party to their advantage. The fights between reps and tea party candidates like the one we have here in florida going to harm both groups, and give Dems advantage by default
