Welocme to the Government Directed Economy:
Obama Wants to Bill the Biggest Banks for $90 Billion

Jenya Disy 15.01.2010 07:02

I guess Obama is now angry at the thieves and crooks of Wall street who were gladly accepting the bailout money just so they can award record bonuses this year...

Гера Така 15.01.2010 09:02

Obama was a member of the liberal gang who made the banks to give all of those unsecured loans!

Гера Така 15.01.2010 10:43

We need people who are a part of the progressive political establishment. People who will (who at least promise today) uphold the Constitution.
Scott Brown - Massachusetts
Allen West - Florida
Sara Palin - Alaska
Doug Hoffman - New York
.....
I wish I would know more names... Help me to find them. (v)

Wagner 15.01.2010 10:57

Gera, most of the ones you listed are what they call "tea party" candidates. ********thinkprogress.org/2009/12/02/beck-primary/

And, yes, I agree we need more of them. The fact that they even exist at all tells how fed up the country is with Dems and even the old guard GOP.

Mike 15.01.2010 11:00

A few people asked me what i think of the new Obama bank tax.
Here is how is a parallel example
I have 2 friends John and Peter, due to bad economy and some stupid things they did both lose their job. They come to me and ask for some money. I don't really have any more to spare, as i am broke myself, but i really want to help my friends.
So I go to this guy I know Mao and ask for $2000, and he gladly gives it to me, with low interest and i don't even have to give it back for 30 years!
I take $1000 of that money and give it to John and $1000 to Peter. John manages to find a job in a year, starts making money and pays it back with 10% interest. Peter can't find a job, in fact chances of him finding a job are very slim.
(cont...)

Wagner 15.01.2010 11:00

I have to say as much as I agree with and support the country truning against the Obama adminstration I am quite annoyed by it too.

He got voted in by a great majority, everyone was euphoric over this wonderful "change" that was coming....Truth be told he hasn't done much, but he def hasn't done anything that shouldn't be expected from his election capmaign. So wtf with the people who were all for him and within a year turned on him. Perhaps they should have listened more carefully and thought a little more about their vote choices

Mike 15.01.2010 11:05

I realize 2 things
1) I have $1100 that i got from John
2) I am still missing $900 from my original $900 that i will probably never collect from Peter.
Here is my solution
1) I go to John and tell him that he's now responsible for the other $900, or ELSE!
2) I take $1100 that i got from John and spend it for a "job creation event in my neighborhood" and by that i mean going to a strip club of course.

Гера Така 15.01.2010 11:26

Obama was voted by a margin of 6 million voters... it is not a lot for a country of this size... we have abot 130 million voter and it will not take a lot to overturn it.
The problem is in the actual policies - for quite a long time we have politicians make laws and regulations, which are killing small business, working people - middle class. Until this changes, there is no light in sight.
The tax payers have no more money to pay for the stupid political ideas like Global Warming, Universal Health care, Big Government.
This country was not based on the Mao or Che Guevara... We have to demand to overturn all unconstitutional laws and regulations, we need to tell them - we want to be free of them.
The primary function of the President is to keep us Free, while keeping us Safe! Somehow - it does not feel that way...
Cheers...(v) (D)

Светлана Гэмм 15.01.2010 11:31

yeah, except Obama wants all banks his "friends" to "create jobs", not only the ones who "did stupid things and lost their jobs" AND borrowed money from him...
and btw, would you be doing the same thing to your friends if you and they did stupid things together and it would have made them lose THEIR jobs??
PS. Obama sued Citibank in the 90s for not issuing enough sub-prime..
i guess I am the only one pissed about Goldman..(dt)

Павел Дуд 15.01.2010 12:11

i guess I am the only one pissed about Goldman..
It seems I missed a news about Goldman?

Мария 15.01.2010 17:04

I am surprised no one interested in the connection of both of ourtreasuries to Goldman Sachs and how they caused the AIG collapse andкинули нас всех to save Goldman...
Savage was the first one to talk about the connection a long time before anybody else was even trying to understand... It was in September of 2008... It sounded like a conspiracy back then... But these days all kind of unthinkable things are happening... People are too busy watching American Idol and trying to predict earthquakes based on "science"

Jenya Disy 16.01.2010 00:57

Yes, Michael Savage always refered to our country as "The United States of Goldman Saks"
Very smart man, unfortunetetly refuses to be "politically correct" that's why the mainstream media doesn't take him seriouslyt...

Khramaya 16.01.2010 03:42

Renata:
So wtf with the people who were all for him and within a year turned onhim. Perhaps they should have listened more carefully and thought alittle more about their vote choices"
I though about this too...
in a larger sense, liberals tend to be not only critical of the other side, but self-critical, too. And often it hurts them. It could be interpreted wrong, but what they do, they try to look at issues in their complexity. And self-criticism could be a healthy thing. Or not. History will show. But I think if people are smart, they shouldn't just drum the "party line" just because it's happens to be their party line. Disclaimer - I NEVER was registered with ANY party, it gives me freedom to evaluate both.

Светлана Гэмм 16.01.2010 04:28

Julia is hilarious :-D how can you misread so much to what's happening? :-) yes, it's true libs are also the ones disenchanted with Obama, but that's because he is not to the left for them enough..and he can't be more lto the eft because he is finally in touch with reality - bad economy, terrorism, etc - and not on campaign trail anymore..
People who ARE turning AGAINST him are the swingers (ch) , the so-called independents..who supposedly vote for the best candidate, not the party line or positions..hmm..tough luck..we told them who they were getting..
btw, I know, Julia, you don't answer my questions, but what do you think about the union members AND government employees have just been exempt from the health-benefit tax?? I know you like fairness and justice, is it fair in your view?

Мария 16.01.2010 08:35

My good friend from Holland, who is a registered Republican, had to vote for Obama because her 7 -year old son came home from the public school on election day and said" Mama, if you don't vote for Obama, I will be very, very upset with you!"
Now , of course, she regrets her vote:-D

Jenya Disy 17.01.2010 02:42

Great, so now we have to listen to little children to tell adults what to do,,,

Мария 17.01.2010 11:20

No,we don't have to. But this example illustrates how public schools brainwash little children.

Светлана Гэмм 18.01.2010 06:40

Obama is in Massachusetts today - getting desperate (H) ..campaigning for the democratic candidate for Teddy's seat..the polls are neck in neck..who would've thought it was even possible in one of the bluest places..Brown (appears very promising - presentable, knowledgeable, conservative) is running on stopping Health-care reform, and what's surprising is that it is getting traction - even people in MA are against this idiocy..and they know what it leads to - they have universal hc in their state..

Гера Така 18.01.2010 07:12

What goes around comes around. Health Care stopped in the state where it is already implemented as a government run institution.

Wagner 20.01.2010 12:08

So mr calss act Chuc Schumer called Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown a "far-right tea-bagger."
In case you don't know, which I am sure everyonedoes, that's quite a nasty sexual reference to spout at a politicalopponent.

What a terribly inappropriate, low-brow way to communicate your disapproval!

What bugs me is that dems seem to get away with such incredibly inappropriate stuff...

Mike 20.01.2010 12:26

i think it's over.. Brown won..
i'm happy for one :) will put some fear into this government, they need it.

Светлана Гэмм 20.01.2010 12:56

congrats!!! (lo) (K) (fr) (Y)
dems have been talking about jamming this monstrocity through before he is seated...some respect for the American people, huh?
I've saying they have dictatorial tendencies..:-@

Васюкова 20.01.2010 12:59

Что ни делает дуБарак - все он делает не так.
Браун - это еще одно тому доказательство.

Мария 20.01.2010 13:05

Would be nice if Barak can go campaign for Harry Reid and help him lose in Nevada:-D

Wagner 20.01.2010 13:38

So, as I said before, Obama's voters are turning on him. Here's is a quote from the AP article on Scott Brown about a voter who voted for Brown
"I voted for Obama because I wanted change. ... I thought he'd bring it to us, but I just don't like the direction that he's heading," said John Triolo, 38, a registered independent who voted in Fitchburg."

Here is the part I don't get. Did these people only heard "change" and just assumed it would be the kind of change they want???? Obama, in all fairness, is not doing anything that a reasonable person should not have expected of him, assuming that the person listened to any of his speeches and understood his platform. Of course, that's a big assumption....

Светлана Гэмм 20.01.2010 13:58

Reid is a goner :'(
Brown's victory speech is excellent - the guy has an excellent sense of humor..I hope he is the new face of the Republican party (Y)

Олег Сах 20.01.2010 14:40

Jenya, wishful thinking. The problem is that democrats are the only people who could go and elect a complete unknown, a dark horse, an image on the screen, into the White House. Republicans need a little more than nice smile and sudden political success for their candidate.

Олег Сах 20.01.2010 14:47

OK, I want to hear from Ira D. & Lina T., among others, what do you guys think about The President of the United States of America postponing State of the Union speech not to interfere with the premiere of "Lost"? I will cherish any opinion...

Мария 20.01.2010 15:09

Sveta, my husband and I enjoyed Scott Brown's speech, especially when he announced that his daughter Ayla is available:-D He has a great sense of humor, and in general is very personable. Good oratorical skills, no platitudes, good energy.(Y)

Jenya Disyot 20.01.2010 16:06

Seems like a great guy and he does drive a GM truck with more then 200K miles... Gera HAS to like him for that :)

XA-XA-XA !!! (fr)
Governor of NJ, Senator of MA, 2009 local elections in CT, all went republican ....
Голубые штаты краснеют (Y) (Y) (Y)

Олег Сах 21.01.2010 00:04

So, in other words, we like to elect a hopey-changey image because Oprah said so, but when it comes to our wallets and future of our children we will elect a conservative Republican in the bluest of the blue states. Hypocrites, unite!

Wagner 21.01.2010 00:23

No kidding...the speed with which the media whores turned on Obama and the dems is remarkable! They mus tbe so proud of their strong supportive voter base :)

Wagner 21.01.2010 00:24

what do you guys think about The President of the United States of America postponing State of the Union speech not to interfere with the premiere of "Lost"? I will cherish any opinion...

Well, I for one think that's just silly. DOesn't he know that most people have DVR now :)

Славик Саж 21.01.2010 00:26

not most Renata, not most..... I still use VHS tapes *-) ... to record Obama's speeches

Олег Сах 21.01.2010 00:31

I'm too slow, Slavik stole my line.
a) I can't imagine anyone DVRing State of the Union
b) They would choose to watch "Lost" live anyway
c) It was still a genius decision
d) There is a possibility that he switched the date because he doesn't want to miss "Lost" premiere himself and is worried that the girls might record Hannah Montana instead.

Лина 21.01.2010 08:33

********eagleionline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/scottbrownpicture.jpg
:-D

Wagner 21.01.2010 09:17

Wow, so he's not just smart, well-spoken and fiscally conservative. he's also smoking hot?
Thanks Lina!
