" Mortgages Backed Securities всегда считались очень safe " - а КТО считал эти риски?
Ребята, которые выдавали эти ипотеки ввели под конец такие "инвестиционные продукты", как ипотека NINJA (no inkom, no job, no assets).
Само понятие секьюритиз оторвало специалиста по оформлению ипотеки от кребитора не просто сильно, а аж БЕСКОНЕЧНО.

Когда заканчивается торговля на решающих рынках.Иногда приходится начинать и в 5, т.к. в это время в Лондоне, например, биржа уже во всю торгует!

Люди в основном уходят после 8-ми. Пройдись по местным барам, и спроси, во сколько начинает приходить люди. Начинают в районе 7-7:30. У всех по разному. Меньше 12 часов работать просто не получается. Если в среднем брать по 12 часов, то получается 60/неделю. Аналисты работают по 100 часов в неделю. особенно сейчас. Пример: недалеко от меня сидит парень, аналист. Говорю ему сегодня, поздно пришёл сегодня. Он отвечает, я ещё со вчера не уходил. Типичная ситуация? Нет. Исключительная? Тоже нет.

По тому, что он привязан к открытию и закрытию определённых рынков.
Поймите, трейдинг и работа на финансовых рынках это не работа "на дядю", в социалистическом режиме, тут самый настоящий капитализм, самый жёсткий и натуральный. Получил лоссов больше нормы - получи пинок в зад! Заработал больше других - получи пару-тройку лимонов в качестве премии.
Правда Государство тебя обберёт, чтобы прокормить пару-тройку тысяч никчёмных и ненужных лузеров. Но ты что-то получишь!

Алекс, мне кажется что слово "аналитик" больше подходит к профессии, а "аналист" намекает на интимные познания о личной жизни твоего коллеги. :-D :-D :-D

У меня просто драйвер вчера объяснил свое опоздание тем что подрался с бойфрендом, полицию вызывали и всякое такое... Я был на свадьбе в одном из этих баров, не знaю насчет вечера, но в выходные там действительно no-man's land.

Я очень часто летаю на самоалетах, и часто соседи сразау *в момент посадки начинают говорить : и вот чел пролител и расскзаывает (после 8-ми вечера) что то своиму коллеге в течении 25 минут. За этим 25 минут я не услышала *, хоть какой то конкретной информции ( Я купил , *я продал, Надо сделать), он расказавал *кого он видел в Лондоне, *куда его возили обедать , какая там была погода .

Закончив эту беседу : он начал сразу звонить другому, и рассказывать тоже самое

Я знала одного человека *он ранал Mutual Funds Family, *он как то говорил , что за все время работы на этой Позиции , он не смог понять , чем занимаются *на работе промерно 30% его подченных

Overstaffing is not uncommon. Very small number of organizations are really lean. However, once it finally started happening and firms started trimmin fat, some of the laid off people decided to sit in Zukkotti Park and protest, instead of betterin themselves and looking for job.. call me insensitive..

люди в высоких позициях обычно не знают чем занимаются подчиненные(unless there's a problem)... так же, it's not unusual for investment bankers to work 70 hours a week, особенно, если учесть after hours trading and international markets, никто из них не работает 9-5 - даже auditors работают допоздна и в выходные дни.

Lina, it's let's take another example: buyin a car. Why some people pay for the very same car different prices? The gap might be huge. Negotiating skills. Some will take time to learn the game, will research edmunds.com, ongoing rates and promoions and will twist dealer's hand into favorable price. Another, oblivious to the research part, will use a frontal assault and personal charm and will endup paying the price that is 20% (or 5% higher) higher. Isn't that game rigged? Are there any rules and regulations that actually protect the uneducated consumer against paying 50K for mesely Honda? Same with Wall Street. Is it absolutel, 100% ethical? No. Is it a crime? No. Choose your ighting ground, stuff you pillow cases with your money and consider the possibilities.

Alex, you seem to be missing the point here - they cheated, lied, scammed, defrauded... the investors. how many different ways must I say it until it finally sinks in? there is absolutely nothing legal or justifiable (forget about ethical) about bundling worthless mortgages, pressuring rating agencies into giving them high ratings, simultaneously betting that these securities would fail, and selling them to the unsuspecting public. Martha Stewart served jail time for a lot less than that.

Alex, do you understand the implication of junk bonds getting a triple A rating? To use your car analogy, paying for a brand new Lexus, but getting a 20 year old Buick instead.

Lina. Any industry has its crooks.I don' understand what are you trying to prove. Trust me, I've read all this stuff over and over again. It's not as black and white as Levin's committee wants you to believe. There's always an agenda to any major shift. There's a ongoing major shift. Among other things, they teach you 2 most imporatant things in law school: it's always a husband and follow the money. Use the latter, and assess the situation from all angles. Again, i'm not saying that nothing shady wasn't going on. Just consider the possibilities. Why now? Why Wall Street? What entities might gain from all this... Could the Wall Street be a substitution for Osama, channeling the people accumulated negativity outwards of the real issue at hand?

Alex, I know there has always been fraud on Wall Street, but how does that excuse what they did? I'm saying that this time these banks along with credit agencies, and whoever else perpetrated a fraud of monumental proportions, which many believe led to the financial meltdown, and not only didn't they pay for it, they walked away with millions.

Задрипанный это город, НЙ. Грязный, неухоженный. Бродвейские шоу (выездные) я раз в месяц смотрю. "Млн $$ квартет" - на прошлой неделе. Это я к тому, что мои занкомые реже в театрах бывают. Так что, важно не где, а как и чем.
