on a separate subject, let me make a prediction here:
next year unemployment will drop to about 8.5% toward the end of 2010, and people will forget about the "evil obama" and will embrace "obama the savior" again.
his popularity will go up to 55-57% and you will have to bitch about something else :).

I would not mind if it happens, the opposite - I will be glad...BUT WHAT makes you think it will happen besides trying to irritate the hell out of the people with the conservative views here? (ch)

people were making fun of me when i was shorting OIL, people made fun of me now for longing $. Everyone keeps screaming about the fundamentals, the "printing of money" blah blah blah..

let me ask you about the repeal of Glass-Steagall...what was the reasoning behind it? what what role do you think it (the repeal) had played in the precipitation of the financial crisis, if any?

Svetlana, i did see a huge asset bubble coming up, of course RE bubble - only a blind would not see :).
I recommended all my friends to dump all financial stocks they held before it collapsed.
I did not realize the extend of the collapse it would cause. If i did i would be set for life :). I was short financials (short C at 52 such a thing of beauty ) at the right time, but exited too soon - i was WAY too optimistic :(.
On G-S act. Basically it created a bunch of these "too big to fail" monsters. A complete failure of oversight added to the problem.
I am WAY to lazy to post a complete analysis here, i am sure smarter people have done it before.
