все профсоюзы разные, с ними может не очень хорошо (для некоторых), но без них, работодатели эксплуатируют простых рабочих, которые не могут за себя постоять и не имеют выбора более образованных людей. когда мой папа приехал, он работал за копейки, как только он смог поступить в профсоюз, он стал зарабатывать нормальную зарплату и получать бенефиты. и что то я не помню что бы хоть одна из компаний в которой он работал вышла из бизнеса.

i am all for unions to be legal.. anyone can join any organization as they are pleased. we live in a free country.
i am just against unions being protected by some silly laws!
Should my employees chose to unionize, i should have a right to fire them all and hire new once. It's a free country for everyone, right?

Viktor, you have NO idea.. i am working on an HR transformation right now. The end goal is to cut the headcount from 140 to 82 ( and i am having difficulties justifying even 82 people, but that's not even the point). Most of the people affected by this change are minorities, women over 40. Which makes it a complete logistical disaster. We literally walk on eggshells to create the most specific to the job function unbiased test.
But our risk assessment still has a very high chance of a lawsuit :(

under federal law of 1964 sexual orientation is not a protected category.
Under state/local laws it usually is.
