just because you can't fire someone due to their gender, race, or age, doesn't mean you can't let them go if the company is downsizing...

Lina, of course you can, but they can always sue.. and that creates a lot of bad publicity when you fire non-white, older women.
And my client is a high profile company in Boston, and they don't want this publicity.

absolutely not (as weird as it sounds). they are all considered to be subjective criteria.. like (managed does not like me because I am black and hence i get bad reviews).
it has to be based on 100% objective test, designed ONLY around the work-related competencies, preferably by the 3rd party.

well, violation of attendance policies is pretty objective, as is systematic lateness, as well as any other documented on the job mistakes... in my experience, the only people who can design a test that can even come close to accurately measuring job related competency are those who have performed the job themselves.

attendance policies could actually be used, as well as a few other measures... we are in fact the consultants who were hired to design the tests...
anyway, this is a nightmare.. and it's not even a union shop lol

Well, Unions are needed without them corporate gread will sky rocket!!!! Sorry for you Mike.. can just imagine that negative energy that those people will produce and it all will go agains you.... they will repeatedly say hatered words on your name... Do not affraid that this will catch on you??? when you are old, desperate and sick just remeber these "glorious days" when you had to make desission for them!!!! I guess now you understand what I wrote before about your corporate check that also will expire one day... and you will expire with it...

Unions were needed at one point...until mafia didn't get in a hold of them. And now they just slowing down progress and making businesses not profitable.
