I am not too happy with us sucking up to Saudies either, so I jsut want make it clear. Nor am I against diplomacy. But diplomacy can only achieve results from the position of strength. Instead Obama gives a pathetic interview to Al Arabiya where he practically bags Ahmadinejad to please, pretty please don't be so mad at us. What does the guy do in response? He tells us he'll like us better, but only if we appologize. This is absene. That "anomaly" that you mentioned, Harry Truman once said: "Talk softly and carry a big stick". I fully concur.
