That view is premature. All is not well either in our region or in thetransatlantic relationship. Central and eastern Europe is at apolitical crossroads and today there is a growing sense of nervousnessin the region. The global economic crisis is impactingon our region and, as elsewhere, carries the risk that our societieswill look inward and be less engaged with the outside world. At thesame time, storm-clouds are starting to gather on the foreign-policyhorizon.
