If Obamka just spent his first year in office laying on the beach in Hawaii, and there was no Congress in session for the entire year, USA economy would have recovered on its own long time ago, and the unemployment rate would be well below 8 %.

what do I see as reasonable taxation ?
I see as "reasonable" is the amount that is left after paying taxes.
So, for some , with small income, it should be 90% left ( 10% tax), for some - 60%, and for some - 10%.
If some executive makes $100 million per year, even at 90% taxes this family will have lots more left than most of us.
I think executive compensation ( specifically - bonuses) should be tied to salaries of their employees ( like in Germany) , then you would not have disgusting situations when Aetna CEO was telling Congress she made some obscene amounts of money and medical payments of her company were called "loss".

well, Lina, in all fairness, one of the objectives of higher education - IS getting a job.
And, yes, EU has high unemployment. Our friend in England is unemployed now. He still has his health insurance, keeps his house, and his daughter still takes dance and piano lessons. And he is really looking! All over the world, including China. China - is a good possibility for him.
