Actually, here, I kind of agree with Lina. Our candidate was the optimal and wouldn't have done a great job in our understanding and would have killed the GOP for good (knowing McCain and his "independence"). So, let Obama screw up the way liberals screw up everything, maybe people will see the difference, finally, and what they've done.

The point is that we will never know... and perhaps Obama "screwing up" is the best that can be done considering the circumstances, and maybe someone else would have done a lot worse, or not. Playing this game of hypotheticals is a senseless exercise in futility. But lets remember one thing - part of the reason that Obama did so well, and the reason that we are in this mess in the first place, can be directly attributed to the horrendous performance of the previous administration, and that is a FACT.

Yes, some will never know (since they don't even know why we are in this mess). We WILL know :-)

I find it hilarious, or maybe I should be insulted that you and others like you think that those of us who don't agree with you are not at least as intelligent and well informed (if not more so) as you. So yes, some of us will never know, or will go through life thinking that they know - blindly avoiding the truth. Perhaps one day you will realize that things are not as black and white as you think, and there are some things out there to which none of us are privy.

Don't you find this rather pointless? Going back and forth like this proves nothing. Wouldn't your time be better spent doing something productive? We all can criticize... and with enough time and motivation, even Mother Theresa can be made to look like a selfish whore.

There are no guarantees... You may not make it out of your bathtub tomorrow - you cannot go through life in fear. Panic is also a very unproductive emotion.
