Again, I know young people who don't buy coverage for that reason.

It was $400 through COBRA almost 6 years ago... it's probably well over $600 if you wanted to buy an individual plan today... and try finding individual dental coverage - it's almost impossible.

Perhaps some people in their 20's don't buy insurance by choice - but they're the exception rather than the rule.

most 19-24 year olds can't affordto pay$600+/month for health insurance, neither can many 25-35 year olds

its very funny how you all guessing what would be the Obama plan signed into a law......there wont be any private insurance companies any longer to chose from: is that understood?

Lina, where are you getting this 600 from??? Isn't COBRA for those who have recently lost their job? In this case, sure, let them have a temporarily affordable coverage until they find a job

Most 19-24 DO NOT need health insurance (because most of them are heathy). If they can't afford doctor's visits, they can go to free clinics or department of health, and get accidental coverage in case of unexpected high medical expenses, which is not very expensive to get for a reason - YOUNG PEOPLE REALLY NEED IT OR USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
