The custodian called in the electrician, who said that he can only change it if the wiring is on fire, which it wasn't. The custodian said that he needs a special ladder that he ordered from the purchasing secretary.
The teacher put the chair on top of the table and changed the damn lightbulb, but fell and broke her ankle. She is on paid leave for line-of-duty injury.
Total cost to taxpayers, including medical bills and the Special City-wide lightbulb investigation - $469,456.74
