here is the deal: in the US there is no difference between marriage by priests and marriages by City Halls. I understand when some religions ( disagreeing, but understanding) would not marry same-sex couples, but why not let them marry in City Halls? After all, we have separation of church and state in this country theoretically, but, no - lawmakers always drag their religions convictions into legislating...I know a number of couples ( female), who have 2 biological children ( in vitro, usually a friend male sperm donor) and they have to go through all kinds of legal very costly maneuvers to have full rights to these children by a partner who is not a biological mother. The kids are totally fine....why not just let people be and not complicate their lives? As Gulya and Rita are saying , what people do in their bed is none of our business....but their kids should not have any problems because of their parents orientation. So - I am all for - whatever you call it, marriage, civil union -, as long as it assures people equal rights.
