People are entiled to their world's views and should not be considered evil or " not enlightened" because you do not agree with them. Irina, we teach children (we should) to question things. To ask questions, is there G-od ? was there big boom ? Was there evolution ? Was world created in 7 days ? 95% of earth's population believes in a supreme being in one form or another, we cannot ignore that.

I would tell him that there are people in the world who believe that the world was created in 7 days 5,700 and change years ago and there are people who believe that there was a big boom millions of years ago and that there are theories to support and counter both and here they are, and you decide for yourself what to believe.

Irina, no one wants a religious State, all I am saying is that our school cirriculum is very one-sided, we must bring facts to out children and let then decide for themselves, for example I entered college as a moderate Democrat left as an ultra-conservative Republican, my views changed when I started looking at both sides of the coin. The school tought me, that Democrats believe in equality, and fair game for all, and opportunities for people, etc. When I went to college I went with those ideas. There, I started to realize that things are not that simple, I learned about necessary evil, that we do not always see the grand plan of politics, that there are compromises in this world, and that this "equality for all" is just BS for unions and other non-for-profits that defy capitalism and I saw my view more on a Republican side. We should give children all sides not sell our ideas.
