It'soutlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838),underthe heading "home visitation programs for families with young childrenand families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants tostates) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.
NOWTHE GOVERNMENT WILL TELL US HOW TO RAISE OUR KIDS, AND WILL BERE-DIRECTING FUNDS TO THOSE WHO DON'T PAY FOR THEIR CARE ANYWAY...

I was under the assumption that social services already had some sort of home visiting program in place for certain low income families... So nothing new there. And who is this us? Wasn't aware that you fell into the low income familycategory.

What if most of the doctors will opt-out of the public option and will go only with private insurance?

Most of the good doctors with established clientele probably will if that option would be available to them leaving treatment of low-income and lower middle class people to new doctors who just starting their private practices

Hospitals and big medical centers will always accept medicare/medicare/obamacare as they will probably get subsidies to do so, many private practice MDs already don't take medicare/medicaid already, i don't imagine it will change.

The only problem is, if this bill passes, it'll eventually wipe out private insurance since the won't be able to compete with the governemnt that doesn't have to be profitable...So the docs would either have to take a pay cut, close their practices, or it'll contribute to the shortage of doctros we have already...
Just like we have public shcools now, and you have a choice to take your kids to private, but how many actually do it if you can have it for "free"?

Why they do not say how muchthe monthly premiums will be for the public option?

Света, а какое это имеет значение? Сегодня одна цена, завтра другая...думаю еще все будет зависеть от твоего дохода тоже...

Если разница в стоимости будет $100-200, то многие не станут брать public plan. Ну, а если разница будет в $1000, то тогда страховым компаниям придется пересмотреть свои условия.

Sveta, i'am actually not against the public option per-se.. as long as it does not get government subsidies and has to stay solvent ( albeit non-profit).
I don't think government can successfully compete with private insurers on price/service..
This has to be documented as a law.. ( solvency requirement ). Otherwise it will just become another money pit.
