I think in the future there will less need for Doctors... People will try to heal themselves naturally...

If we have shortage of docs today and other professionals..what's the average salary now?140K?...and there will be decisively for patients on Medicaid..who in the right mind will spend 12-15 yrs of their life to make 100K working 60 hours/week??...it's not only about money for training people, it's also about people willing to invest their time in training..and if the rewards are not there, there will less and less people, and the best people, going into the profession..

Jenya, I am not talking about education, it's about training... trust me, you don't want a doctor trained in Romania take care of you... we have huge numbers of FMG's in this country and everybody gets retrained.

Hmm, i don't know some of these foreign Docs are pretty good...Don't underestimate them. Medicineis medicine no matter where it is practiced...

60 hrs/week sounds like vacation. My husband works 80 or more (surgeon).
He is so pissed off by the Obamacare, that he will definitely go work part-time. He'd rather spend more quality time with kids instead of paying f..ing Obama his taxes.
Who loses? Government -less taxes; patients -less access to a highly trained and unique specialist.

Maria, how about spending more time with the kids not because one is pissed at Obama, but just because.... the end result might be fiscally the same, but emotionally better:-)

off topic, speaking of cost of living in CA, specifically SF..someone from there just wrote to me, the electric bill to warm the place @69-70F is 600 bucks there..she said knows many middle class families don't even put the heat on..that's the Socialistic Republic of Cali..(ch)
