free market, competitive pricing and real capitalism. universal health
care is what people deserve. you still can keep your insurance if you
like - if you think it is worth it to pay $13200 per year for one
person to visit doctors couple of times - that is another one of your
opinions that "makes sense" to you. I would pay taxes for it instead to

How laughable. At no time in the human history, the government paid employees had any motivation based on their pre-determined/guaranteed sallaries flat sallary whatsoever to help ordinaty people. But even if they had, they would be able to provide only the outdated level services - mostly 19-century-stile emotional contact - that is it. Financing any technological progress is almost impossible within the socialist model you are advocating.

Just try to compare the cost of the police services per capita - and cost of healthcare. The magnitude of medical R&D and that of the police. And yes, there is always outcry: the police is chronically underfunded. You didn't hear ever about that? The socialist/government care might be (and might be not) satisfactory in maintaining some mediocre past achievements. Any sufficient progress or fast response to an abrupt change is virtually impossible. Look at the Katrina events: all the levels of government fails – and the most socialistic failed most badly. And in more socialist countries like USSR, China and India – the quality of reaction is even worse …

Julia, you are making the same logica glitch again and again. The agencies you metioned are supposed to maintain status quo. Healthcare must develop dramaticalyy. Socialism is an enemy of any helathy development - so it kills any rapid growth ...
