Laws on immunization waivers wary from state to state. There are many website where one can find out what it's in your state. For example, in NYS parents can take religious exemption. In CA you can just sign a waiver. So, in NYS , people just end up lying. *-)There is also a recommended shots schedule, as well as required minimum for school entry. But there are shots that are simply scary NOT to give - for example, against Hib meningitis. It's enough to see a case once in your life, and you never ever want to see it again....And then there are "minor" shots - Hepatitis A, Rotavirus....Those could be skipped if desired to minimize shots....not too many kids these days die from those illnesses. Day care centers always require shots records, they need them for their files, as they are inspected by state. Plus, they don't want to be centers of whooping cough epidemics, etc...like the one we are dealing with right now all over the country, it's pretty nasty.
