Regarding this particular one (from urbandictionary.com):
1. a way of saying a particular man is a homosexual, wimp or sissy. used by the Bush administration in the campaign against Kerry by using a picture of a fox hound wearing a tutu with the caption "that dog don't hunt," referring to the eventual state of the nation if Kerry had won.
2. a way of saying you or someone else is not interested in a particular activity.

Alex, I actually did check that before asking this particular question.
Both these meanings are completely off.
Only the first meaning given, An obviously faulty endeavor; predictive of failure, was actually relevant, but it still didn't make a whole lot of sense in the context I saw it.
But then perhaps that person misused it.

Margarita, where did you get that interpretation from? That would fit the usage I came across.

Андрей, я посмотрела в словаре, это примерно эквивалент русского "мне до лампочки" (или чего похлеще ).
Также используется, как словесное выражение раздраженности.

(Сама я слышала это слово только во втором употреблении - для первого значения есть более распространенные выражения.)
